These pictures were scanned from the book Currier & Ives, Printmakers to the American People by Harry T. Peters. It is full of black and white, with a few color plates depicting historical events and scenes from everyday life. Many of them are unintentionally hillarious. 
The one below is one of my favorites because of how absurd it seems now, and all those smooshed hats. Here is a link to more information on Currier & Ives.
